Summer in Imst

Our guests enjoy our beautiful nature on numerous hiking trails – starting at the hotel! - due to our unique location on a sunny plateau at 1.000 metres. Tours of all degrees of difficulty ensure a diversified day program for everybody – from walks and hikes to climbs.

Within an hour walking distance you reach the “Imster Bergbahnen”, the local lift installations in Hoch-Imst (www.imster-bergbahnen.at), which conveniently take you up to an altitude of 1.500 m using two chairlifts. The “Untermarkter Alm”, the “Latschenhütte” and the “Muttekopfhütte” invite you for a rest, a drink and a refreshment in the clear mountain air of Tyrol.

Take the “Alpine Coaster” (www.alpine-coaster.at) – the longest Alpine Roaster Coaster in the world – and cover the distance of 3.5 km from the mid station back to Hoch-Imst in high-speed.

Do not miss the “Rosengartenschlucht”, a gorge, where stone and water merged to create an amazing natural monument.

Or visit the beer world “Biermythos” (www.starkenberg.at) at the castle Starkenberg in Tarrenz, within walking distance as well, where some of the best beers are still brewed nowadays.

Rafting, canyoning and climbing are some of the favourite activities for groups and families (www.feelfree.at).

Discover the surrounding valleys, like the Pitztal with Austria’s highest cable car up on the glacier (www.pitztaler-gletscher.at), the Ötztal with Austria’s most powerful waterfall, the “Stuibenfall” (www.stuibenfall.com) in Umhausen, as well as the Aqua Dome in Längenfeld (www.aqua-dome.at), a thermal spa of high modernity, and the Lechtal with a natural park of 41 km2 (www.lechtal.at). Enjoy a breathtaking view from the “Zugspitze”, easily accessible via the Fernpass, Ehrwald and the “Tiroler Zugspitzbahn” (www.zugspitze.at).

Tyrol’s capital – Innsbruck – is located at about 60 km from Imst, and very attractive due to a pictorial old town with Innsbruck’s landmark, the Golden Roof, as well as numerous shopping possibilities and the “Alpenzoo” (www.alpenzoo.at), Europe’s highest zoo, inhabited by more than 2.000 animals.

The Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens (kristallwelten.swarovski.com) and the silver mine in Schwaz (www.silberbergwerk.at) are other destinations for your day excursion.

Further more, South Tyrol is always worth a quick journey – either via the Reschenpass or via the Brenner.
